what a shock, I was right
As predicted today Hope has decided that she wants to stay! She’s raged at me for cancelling our plans for this weekend and is devestated at just how bad she’s got - she even asked me to try and get her an earlier appointment with the specialists. She’s seeing him on Monday 31st but doesn’t feel she can wait that long, says a lot about how bad she is if she wants to actually go and see someone.
There’s already an appointment with the GP in place for tomorrow morning so I’m going to wait and see what he says, he may well be able to get a cancellation appointment with the consultant quicker than I could.
On a different note we’ve had the pipes replaced! (YAY!!) It wasn’t as messy as I was expecting and there’s just a bit of carpentry left to do now and we’re sorted. The pipes were literally completely scummed up and blocked and there was no other option other than to replace them.
Oh yes, and I’ve got raging heartburn - have done for days now and nothing I’ve tried so far has worked to get rid of it. I’m really tired and run down and desperately need to shake off the cold that I’ve had pretty much since we came back in January. Not sleeping isn’t helping but even when I do sleep I don’t sleep well and I’m awake within a few hours. Maybe I should be seeing the doctors myself?

what a nightmare (and other stories!)
Not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but we’ve got a problem with the pipe work in our kitchen and the washing machine keeps backing up so the water flows out of the waste stand pipe instead of flowing down into the drain. We put loads of caustic down the plugholes for the sink (1.5 bowl drainer so 2 plugholes) and that seemed to help. We called the landlord (Alan) and asked for help so he sent his plumber (Simon) round to have a look.
Seems our nice, simple blocked pipe isn’t so nice and simple. When the extension was built (about 10-15 years ago) they routed the pipework through the house and into the soil stack (which then drains into the soakaway). What a shame that all the pipework is lovely and level and doesn’t have any kind of drop to it! The pipes are completely blocked with probably 10-15 years worth of scum and grease and all need to be replaced :( That means riping out where it’s all boxed in along the side of the dining room, and potentially behind pretty much all of the floor level kitchen cupboards 
Who ever the idiot was that plumbed the extension didn’t think to make sure there was a drop to the pipes and as a result our kitchen gets to be ripped to pieces (and Alan gets a really nice large bill!!)
Guess I’d better make sure I’ve got plenty of tea in for the builders!!
For the other stories - we may well be going to Australia at the end of next month (OMG!) Have got to sort out childcare and flights but with any luck we’ll be off for a weeks break fairly soon.
Child free night tonight as J and Ellie are at my parents (always stay there on a Monday) and Hoppit is at a friends house - gonna get drunk, eat ice cream and have a lie in tomorrow (wahey!)
